Breaking parts

• Hitting a specific part of the monster enough will break it causing that spot to take more damage and an extra reward to be given at the mission rewards screen

Capturing Monsters

• Monsters are only capturable when it's icon on the map has a blue dead-face blinking on it
• Set a Shock Trap or Pitfall Trap and lure the monster into it then throw 2 Tranq Bombs while standing next it

Village 2⭐

Prioritization

• Do the key quest A Frosty Paradise and search bone piles and mine ore nodes in the Frost Islands for 2 Icium and hopefully 3 Earth Crystal
• Upgrade your Hyperguard I to Hyperguard II.
• Do the optional quest Great Izuchi, Great Pain again until you are able to make the Izuchi Helm, Izuchi Mail, Izuchi Braces, and the Izuchi Coil. The Chainmail Pants you made earlier are fine for now.
• Craft weapons and armor for your palico and palamute from the Great Izuchi Scraps you gained from making that armor, or exchange raw materials for scraps.

Village 3⭐

Prioritization

• Craft the Wind Thief Sickle II from the Wind Thief Sickle I which is from the Hyperguard I. Either downgrade your current one or forge a new one. If you do not have the matrials for Wind Thief Sickle II then hunt the Great Izuchi again. Machalite Ore is from the Sandy Plains, see below for other resources you need form that area.
• Do the key quest Obnoxious Lord, Noxious Monster. The Wroggi Helm and Wroggi Greaves provide Evade Extender if you prefer a longer dodge.
• Use the Wroggi materials to make palico and palamute gear.
• Go to the Sandy Plains and kill Rhenoplos and Kestodon as well as mine ore for Machalite Ore.
• Artillery options are the Rhenoplos Mail and the Rhenolpos Braces. This can be done in the optional quest A Sandy Cabal where you can also pursue the Jaggi Gauntlets for easy Attack Boost.
• You have the option of making the Alloy Vambraces and the Alloy Coil though they do not provide a major benefit.

• Walking on Egg Shells | Kulu-Ya-Ku Greaves is a strong pickup.
• Spongy Oasis
• Fightin' Dirty | Barroth Helm and Barroth Mail are strong pickups. Use Sonic Bombs to stun Delex in the Sandy Plains for Big Fins.

• Do the key quest A Song of Red and Fire. The Volvidon Mail and Volvidon Coil are an upgrade. Mine Dragonite Ore and Firestones while in the Lava Caverns.
• Craft the Ingot Greaves.
• Upgrade the Hyperguard II to Regas Hyper. Forge a new Hyperguard I if you downgraded last time.
• Use Volvidon Scrap to make armor for your palico and palamute.

• Raging White-Out | Focus on Breaking it's amber fangs for Barioth Vambraces and Barioth Coil.

Village 6⭐

There are no more Key Quests and no more incentive to do the quests inside of 6 Star. You will have to complete some of these hunts for materials later but that will be significantly easier and faster to do in High Rank gear. Instead, complete,

• Special License Test 3 Hunt any monster for any upgrades if these are too hard.
• The Blue Apex | An Urgent Gathering Hub Rampage Quest to unlock High Rank.

This will let you skip the Gathering Hub Low Rank Key Quests and allow you to go straight into High Rank.
