Breaking parts
- Hitting a specific part of the monster enough will break it causing that spot to take more damage and an extra reward to be given at the mission rewards screen
Capturing Monsters
- Monsters are only capturable when it's icon on the map has a blue dead-face blinking on it
- Set a Shock Trap or Pitfall Trap and lure the monster into it then throw 2 Tranq Bombs while standing next it

Village 2⭐
Prioritization
- Do the key quest A Frosty Paradise and search bone piles and mine ore nodes in the Frost Islands for 2 Icium and hopefully 2 Earth Crystal.
- Upgrade your Iron Blade I to Iron Blade II.
- Do the optional quest Great Izuchi, Great Pain again until you are able to make the Izuchi Helm, Izuchi Mail, Izuchi Braces, and the Izuchi Coil. The Chainmail Pants you made earlier are fine for now.
- Craft weapons and armor for your palico and palamute from the Great Izuchi Scraps you gained from making that armor, or exchange raw materials for scraps.

Village 3⭐
Prioritization
- Upgrade your Iron Blade II into the Aknosom Pike I. If you do not have enough materials. Do the optional quest Feathered Frenzy again until you do.
- Purchase a new kinsect, speed is easiest to use and any other bug should be bought with careful consideration.
- Do the key quest Obnoxious Lord, Noxious Monster. The Wroggi Helm and Wroggi Greaves provide Evade Extender if you prefer a longer dodge.
- Use the Wroggi materials to make palico and palamute gear.
- Mine in the Sandy Plains for Machalite Ore and this will allow you to make the Alloy Coil which is an easy way to get Critical Eye. This can be done in the optional quest A Sandy Cabal where you can also pursue the Jaggi Gauntlets for easy Attack Boost.

- Walking on Egg Shells | Kulu-Ya-Ku Greaves is a strong pickup.
- Fightin' Dirty | Barroth Helm and Barroth Mail are strong pickups. Use Sonic Bombs to stun Delex in the Sandy Plains for Big Fins.

Prioritization
- Do the key quest A Song of Red and Fire. Mine Dragonite Ore and Firestones while in the Lava Caverns.
- Upgrade the Aknosom Pike I to Aknosom Pike II.
- Craft the Ingot Greaves.
- Use Volvidon Scrap to make armor for your palico and palamute.

- Raging White-Out | Focus on Breaking it's amber fangs for Barioth Vambraces and Barioth Coil which are strong pickups.
- Streaking Shadow | Tobi-Kadachi Mail is a optional pickup for more Critical Eye over Attack Boost.

- The Queen's Procession | You can use Rathian Scrap to make palico and palamute weapons.

Consider upgrading your armor with armor spheres for stats and use your items in the hunt. It's all or nothing.

Prioritization
- If you desire Magnamalo weapons and gear, Hunt Magnamalo for those things now as they will be replaced by High Rank gear soon.
- Most gear made will get out shined by High Rank gear but there are still a few optimizations for your convenience.
Key Quests
- Wind Speed Wyvern | Hidden Scythe I is an upgrade and has a good High Rank upgrade. Use if not using Magnamalo's weapon.
- Electrifying Epiphany | Zinogre Helm and Zinogre Mail are an upgrade.
- Nocturnal Tracker | Anjanath Vambraces and Anjanath Coil are an upgrade.

It has a lot of armored spots but its face and end of tail are weak.
Village 6⭐
There are no more Key Quests and no more incentive to do the quests inside of 6 Star. You will have to complete some of these hunts for materials later but that will be significantly easier and faster to do in High Rank gear. Instead, complete,
- Special License Test 1
- Special License Test 2
- Special License Test 3 Hunt any monster for any upgrades if these are too hard.
- The Blue Apex | An Urgent Gathering Hub Rampage Quest to unlock High Rank.
This will let you skip the Gathering Hub Low Rank Key Quests and allow you to go straight into High Rank.
