  Breaking parts

  • Hitting a specific part of the monster enough will break it causing that spot to take more damage and an extra reward to be given at the mission rewards screen

  Capturing Monsters

  • Monsters are only capturable when it's icon on the map has a blue dead-face blinking on it
  • Set a Shock Trap or Pitfall Trap and lure the monster into it then throw 2 Tranq Bombs while standing next it

Village 2⭐

Prioritization

• Do the key quest A Frosty Paradise and search bone piles in the Frost Islands for 4 Dragonhusk Shards
• Go to the Shrine Ruins and search bone piles for 2 Twisted Remains
• Upgrade your Bone Hatchets I to Bone Hatchets II
• Do the optional quest Great Izuchi, Great Pain again until you are able to make the Izuchi Helm, Izuchi Mail, Izuchi Braces, and the Izuchi Coil. The Chainmail Pants you made earlier are fine for now.
• Craft weapons and armor for your palico and palamute from the Great Izuchi Scraps you gained from making that armor, or exchange raw materials for scraps.

URGENT Mission

• Feathered Frenzy

  You can hunt the Lagombi in the optional quest or in a frost island expedition to obtain the Snow Slicers I to make the fight a little bit easier. The weapon path hits a dead end so this is where it would be the most effective.

Village 3⭐

Prioritization

• Do the optional quest Feathered Frenzy again until you get the materials to craft the Schirmscorn I. You can forge them outright or upgrade a new Matched Slicers I.
• Do the optional quest Faceless Foe for its thunder damage dual blade. Make sure you break it's head and back and to capture it for the best chances of a Pale Bone.
• Mine in the Sandy Plains for Machalite Ore to make the Khezu Daggers I. Upgrade the Kamura dual blades tree until you can make the Khezu Daggers I.
• You have the option of making the Alloy Vambraces and the Alloy Coil though they do not provide a major benefit.

Village 4⭐

Prioritization

• Do the key quest A Song of Red and Fire and use the Khezu Daggers I. Mine Dragonite Ore while in the Lava Caverns.
• Upgrade the Khezu Daggers I to Khezu Daggers II.
• While in the Lava Caverns mine Firestone to unlock the last material for the Bullfango Mask. This gives the skill Bludgeoner which gives an attack boost at yellow sharpness which would only be used here. (this is optional).
• Craft the Ingot Greaves.
• Use Volvidon Scrap to make armor for your palico and palamute.

Key Quests

• A Song of Red and Fire (Should be done in Prioritization).
• Raging White-Out | Use Khezu Daggers II. Focus on Breaking it's amber fangs for Blizzarioths I.
• Streaking Shadow | Use Blizzarioths I.
• Infernal Lacrimosa | Use Khezu Daggers II.
• The Queen's Procession | Use either Khezu Daggers II or Blizzarioths I. You can use Rathian Scrap to make palico and palamute weapons.

Village 6⭐

There are no more Key Quests and no more incentive to do the quests inside of 6 Star. You will have to complete some of these hunts for materials later but that will be significantly easier and faster to do in High Rank gear. Instead, complete,

• Special License Test 1 | Use Either weapon
• Special License Test 2 | Use Blizzarioths I for Izuchi and Bishitan and then switch to Khezu Daggers II for Magnamalo in the tent at the camp.
• Special License Test 3 | Use Khezu Daggers II for Rathalos then switch to Blizzarioths I for Zinogre and Almudron.
• The Blue Apex | An Urgent Gathering Hub Rampage Quest to unlock High Rank.

This will let you skip the Gathering Hub Low Rank Key Quests and allow you to go straight into High Rank.
